This is a guided horseback, spike camp hunt in the Sangre De Cristo Wilderness of Rattlesnake Park. Heading out from the ranch, you'll ride to an elevation of 9,000 ft. where we establish our spike camp.

Each day you will be guided into the " Black Timber " to seek out the magnificent Colorado Bull Elk.This is hunting at it's best as the mountain and mother nature challenge you to your limit.

While you're up on the mountain we also pursue the elusive Buck Mule Deer. If you're up to it we can even do some high mountain deer hunting while in the area. It's Great Too!!

Your guides are professionals who are completely familiar with the wilderness area and high mountain hunting. This expertise and under-standing is the factor that make our hunting trips a success.

Our season offers archery, black powder and (3) rifle hunts.

Guided hunts for Deer, Elk, Bear, Antelope and Mountain Lion, can be arranged by Hidden Valley Ranch depending on your licenses. Deer Park

Our outfitters in the San Juan Mountains have owned and operated one of the best summer and fall outfitting businesses in Southwest Colorado for over 20 years. Where experience counts, they have it and it shows in their quality permitted hunting areas, base and spike camps, excellent homecooking and superb horses.

Base camps are accessible by horse or foot only, thereby limiting the outside pressure. "Home away from home", wall tents with cots, pads and wood burning stoves, cooking and bath tents all make for a very comfortable get away.

Their success with game is high year after year, but the return of the hunter is their greatest success rate. Only a limited number of hunters are taken out each season.This assures each hunter the close personal attention we all search for.

Archery & Muzzel loading are one of their specialties.These early seasons are held in severe country and are physically demanding. The guides are all bow hunters and bugling experts. Fossil Ridge

Join the hunt at Fossil Ridge! For over thirty years this nationally known, award winning outfitter has guided hunters to success in primitive areas of Colorado. Meet up with Rudy Rudibaugh, a true hunter with a concern for your overall wilderness experience. Your experience begins at the cordial and warm " 711 Ranch", in Parlin, Colorado. The guest cabins are very cozy and clean and the hunters loft in the lodge is warm and comfortable.

As you ride out on your horse the first day you'll be seduced by the country as nature works on your senses. The crispness of the morning air, the smell of the earth and pines and the serenity of the forest will leave all thoughts of urban life behind.

You'll find Base camp, at 11,000 ft.,to be everything you expected and more. The corrals will have good stock,stacks of split firewood and wall tents rowed-up to the main eating and cook tent. For hunting into more isolated areas spike camps are available.
